A bit about me and this site

My name's Sufina, and I love writing. This blog is an opportunity for me to do just that on a topic I love - leadership. This is all a bit of an experiment, and I'm hoping my posts will result in people sharing and responding with their own thoughts about what I have shared.

I am an experienced CEO and Non-Executive Director. In my day job, I run a UK-based endowed grantmaker, working with the team, our Board, and key external partners to deliver our aim to advance the wellbeing of people, society and the natural world. We do this through our grantmaking to changemaking organisations advancing justice in the areas of the triple planetary crisis, polarisation and political inequality, and wealth inequalities and new economic systems, alongside our total impact approach to the ethical and environmentally sustainable investment of our endowment via traditional markets and social investments.

I think of myself as having strong cross-sectoral experience in strategy, performance, grantmaking, policy, learning, and leadership roles for major charitable funders, public institutions, and civil society organisations. I enjoy leading and developing teams and organisations, designing and delivering strategies, managing relationships with multi-sector and disciplinary stakeholders, and researching social, economic and environmental policy. My Executive MBA, with a specialism in strategic leadership, from Warwick Business School has enhanced my practice in these areas too.
